Legendary Radio New Zealand Presenter, Bryan Crump, interviews Dr Joseph Nolan as he prepares to lead the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, New Zealand Voices, and Co3 in performances of the award winning Gloria at the New Zealand International Festival.
Joseph Nolan, who has recorded Alkan’s complete organ works, is convinced of his genius, comparing the music to “Widor on steroids”. Listening to this first volume, performed on the breathtaking organ of Église Saint Martin in Dudelange, Luxembourg, that seems an apt description. Not only does Nolan’s playing exhibit a death-defying virtuosity, Signum’s richly spacious recording is guaranteed to put the swankiest of speaker systems through its paces (UK Guardian-Clive Paget).
ABC Classic have recently rebroadcast WASO’s Devotion and Glory concert featuring the West Australian Premiere of Mary Finsterer’s Stabat Mater. Conductor, Joseph Nolan, leads WASO, soprano, Mia Robinson and St George’s Cathedral Consort. The performance can be heard on ABC iplayer for the next thirty days.

Joseph Nolan was granted the significant privilege of recording a commercial disc for Signum Records, UK, at the world famous Berliner Dom in January 2026-which houses the stunning 1905 Sauer Organ.
The disc will be released by Signum Classics in 2027 and will feature Mendelssohn’s Third Organ Sonata, Liszt’s famous ‘Ad Nos’ and the Adagio and Finale of Saint-Saens Organ Symphony No 3 in C Minor-transcribed by Jonathan Scott.
The final concert in the 2025 St George’s Cathedral Concert Series was another sell out performance. The concert featured the St George’s Cathedral Consort and Jazz Consort culminating in a Standing Ovation from the audience.
Joseph made a very successful debut as a soloist in the 2025/6 Singapore Symphony Orchestra season performing to a sold out audience at Victoria Concert Hall.
